The IV Technician course is back! Ready to add IV skills to your EMT toolkit? Registration is now open for the 2026 Kitsap County IV Technician Course. This focused 40-hour program will train you in IV therapy techniques, expanding your scope of practice and giving you new tools to provide better patient care in the field.

    • Tuesdays: 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM (March 31, April 7, April 14)
    • Thursday: 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM (April 2)
    • Saturdays: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM (April 4, 11, 18)
  • Cost

     $300 (includes loaned textbook)

What You’ll Learn:

This hands-on course blends classroom instruction with practical skills training, covering:
  • IV therapy fundamentals and techniques
  • Medical calculations and medication math
  • Patient assessment and management of shock
  • Intraosseous (IO) therapy
  • Pediatric considerations
  • And more!
You’ll progress from mannequin practice to supervised live sticks with your classmates, building confidence and competency in IV access skills.

Prerequisites:

To enroll in this course, you must:

Be a certified EMT

You and your classmates will be doing live stick on each other. By attending this class. You consent to this.

Important for Out-of-County Providers:

This course provides an IV Technician endorsement through the Kitsap County Medical Program Director. If you work outside of Kitsap County, please verify with your agency’s Medical Program Director that they will accept this endorsement before registering. We want to ensure this training will be recognized in your service area.

Clinical Requirements:

In addition to classroom instruction, you’ll complete:

  • 8-hour Emergency Department clinical rotation (Mason General Hospital)
  • 8-hour field rotation with an EMS agency
  • 12 successful IV starts with supporting documentation

All rotations must be completed and documentation submitted by April 17th.
